Russia to resume air travel with UK from Wednesday

MOSCOW, Jun 1 (PRIME) -- Russia has decided to lift restrictions on air travel with the U.K., and Moscow–London flights will resume three times per week from Wednesday, a spokesperson for the government’s coronavirus response center told reporters late Monday.

“In connection with the improvement of the epidemiological situation in the U.K., the response center decided not to extend the suspension of air traffic. Starting from June 2 (Wednesday), regular flights on the Moscow–London route will be resumed three times a week on a reciprocal basis,” the center said.

Russia will also resume air travel with Austria, Hungary, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Mauritius, Morocco, Croatia, as well as charter flights with Albania from June 10.

In addition, a decision was made to increase the number of flights with Belarus on the Moscow–Minsk route from June 10 to 10 times a week on a reciprocal basis.

Russia will also increase the number of flights with Greece, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Qatar, Tajikistan, Egypt, Serbia, and Germany from June 10.

It will also resume international flights from airports of Nizhnekamsk, Vladikavkaz, and Tomsk from June 10.

At the same time, Russia decided to extend restrictions on air travel with Turkey and Tanzania until June 21.
